Making A Difference to Maidstone (MADM) is a community-focused charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing crisis in Maidstone.
Rooted in Christian values but open to all, the charity works with people experiencing challenges such as homelessness, financial hardship, domestic abuse, addiction, and relationship breakdowns. Its mission is to provide both practical and emotional support, helping people take positive steps toward stability and hope.
A central part of MADM’s work is its large charity shop on Maidstone Church Street. The shop offers an impressive range of preloved goods—from furniture and clothing to homeware, fancy dress, and more. Proceeds from sales directly support the charity’s outreach, while donations from the public help keep the shelves stocked. Alongside this, MADM runs a £1 pop-up shop, making everyday essentials accessible to those on minimal budgets.
Other projects include “Lovingly Restored,” which breathes new life into donated items, and a Bridal Boutique allowing people to access affordable, special pieces.
The charity also redistributes fresh food, ensuring families enjoy fruit, vegetables, and bakery products that might otherwise go to waste. Working closely with local agencies, MADM is a lifeline for people in Maidstone when they need it most.
