Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust, based in the Broadwater Forest near Tunbridge Wells, is a charity dedicated to rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating injured, orphaned, and distressed wildlife.

Founded in 1993, it has grown from caring for a single hedgehog into a fully equipped wildlife hospital that now helps around 3,500 animals each year, including birds, hedgehogs, badgers, rabbits, and amphibians.

The hospital provides expert veterinary care, hand-rearing, and rehabilitation, always aiming to return animals safely to their natural habitats. Set on a six-acre site, the charity also manages an ongoing habitat restoration project to support biodiversity and create a safe environment for wildlife recovery.

Education is a key part of Folly’s mission. The team works to raise awareness about the challenges faced by native wildlife, such as road accidents, garden hazards, litter, and pet attacks, while promoting practical steps the public can take to protect animals.

Volunteers are central to the charity’s work, taking on roles from animal care and wildlife collection to fundraising and land maintenance. With on-site training provided, Folly offers opportunities for people to make a direct impact.

Folly Wildlife Rescue continues to stand as a vital sanctuary, giving countless wild creatures a second chance at life.
