A criminal who drove to Tunbridge Wells to fund a lavish lifestyle through drug-dealing was scuppered after police stopped his purple Jaguar car for being uninsured.

During the vehicle check on the evening of Friday 8 August 2025Sabjon Shehi told officers that he was in the High Brooms area to meet a woman and that the 10 vials of cocaine hidden in the car were for his own use. But both claims were found to be lies and he was arrested while his car was seized.

Drugs in a designer bag

Police found evidence in the car of £2,700 cash being transferred by Shehi to a person in Albania, and suspecting him to be part of an organised criminal group, they then searched his home in Granville Road, Sevenoaks.

At the property, a block of cocaine was found hidden in a Louis Vuitton bag, and detectives also recovered thousands of pounds in cash and drug dealing equipment including weighing scales and deal bags.

The 21 year old was charged the following day and, he later admitted offences of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, possessing criminal property (cash) and using a vehicle without insurance at Maidstone Crown Court.

On Monday 5 January 2026, he was sentenced to 28 months in custody and received eight points on his licence for driving without insurance.

The court ordered that, as Shehi’s lifestyle had been funded by crime, the cash totalling £7,185, and the high-value car should be forfeited and the proceeds donated to charity.

Detective Inspector Rob Hemsley said:

‘From the moment police stopped the car and spoke to Shehi, none of his claims were found to be true. The fact was he had travelled, uninsured, to Tunbridge Wells, with the hope of dealing class A drugs. However officers acted quickly to disrupt his criminal operation, and now he will spend time in prison. ‘His lifestyle included luxury goods and we are grateful to the court for taking action to stop him keeping the money he made through causing other people’s misery.’
