Local primary school children have taken over the debating chamber at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council for the day.
They've been discussing some of the big questions in education that affect their lives. The lively debate was chaired by the Mayor, Cllr Chris Brown, and alongside him, Deputy Mayor, Cllr Kim Tanner.
The children, who came from across the borough, spoke with confidence and passion about topics, like the pros and cons of school uniform, and the 11+ exam for Kent Grammar Schools. And at the end of each discussion there was a vote, just like there would be in a real council meeting.
It was great to see everyone enjoying the experience and learning more about how our local council meetings are conducted.
Thank you to the schools, teachers and parents who helped to give the day a big vote of confidence!
