Loose: Drug dealer in shed, jailed

By Weald Radio Newsroom

A dealer from Maidstone has been jailed for more than three years after being caught with drugs in his shed.

Around midday on 22 July 2025, officers attended Jake Everts’ home address in Hubbards Lane, Loose following reports of a disturbance.

On arrival, they searched the property and found cocaine, cannabis, around £25,000 in cash along with scales and money counting machines at a shed in the rear garden.

The items were seized and Jake Everts was arrested at the scene.

Whilst conducting a search, officers heard a phone ringing from outside the shed. It's believed the phone had been thrown out of the window in an attempt to hide it as it held further evidence of drug dealing.

Everts, 34, of Hubbards Lane in Loose was charged with possession with intent to supply class A and Class B drugs and possession of criminal property (namely the seized cash).

He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced on Thursday 15 January 2026 at Maidstone Crown Court to three years and six months' imprisonment.

Detective Constable Rohan Gupte said:
'Everts used a shed in his own back garden as the hub of his criminal actions because he was confident that he wouldn't be caught.
'He was shocked when officers arrived at his home and despite quickly trying to hide evidence of his crimes, it was clear that illegal activity had been taking place.

'We will continue to proactively target criminals who are involved in drug supply in Kent, bring them to justice and seek to confiscate any assets gained by illegal means.'
