The funding comes from the sale of items seized in police operations
Kent’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott has announced that applications for the Police Property Act Fund are now open.
The fund aims to keep communities safe, protect young and vulnerable people, and reduce antisocial behaviour by supporting local projects conducted by charitable or voluntary organisations.
The fund is generated from the sale, at auction, of items seized in police operations that cannot be reclaimed. The funds are then used to support Registered Charities, Social Enterprises, Constituted Groups, or Community Interest Companies (CICs).
Organisations with a clear connection to Kent that undertake work benefiting the local community and promoting safety and well-being are invited to apply for funding to support their projects.
Matthew Scott says:
“Cutting crime, supporting victims and building trust is at the core of everything we do. It is my hope that this fund will achieve all three of these goals by empowering local organisations to deliver meaningful projects that will impact people’s lives, strengthen communities and make Kent safer.
I have seen fantastic work done by many charity or voluntary organisations in the past and we know how big of an impact these can have on people. I look forward to supporting these organisations further and am excited to see the real-world impact they are going to make in Kent.”
